Michelle Duff delves into Ardern's beginnings in small-town New Zealand, discovering a nose-ringed teen fighting for equality and her own identity in a devout Mormon family. Duff tracks Ardern's political career from being dismissed as a 'show pony' to her compassion during one o...f New Zealand's biggest tragedies, the Christchurch mosque terror attack of 2019. In its aftermath, Ardern has become a global icon for her strength and decisiveness while uniting a country in shock and mourning. Ardern attracted international headlines for being the second world leader to give birth while in office. But why was having a baby so meaningful, and what does it say about the continued struggle for gender equality? Has Ardern really been a transcendent leader, and what enduring mark might she leave on the political landscape? This is an engrossing and powerful exploration of one of the most intriguing political stories of our time-telling us as much about one young woman's ascendancy as it does about the country that elected her.

I got up and walked the Te Araroa is a factual account of my end-to-end (through) hike of the Te Araroa trail which runs 3,063 kilometres from the top of New Zealand to the bottom. The official trail was opened in 2012 although it has been in the planning for many years. It is m...ainly on trails; however, it also passes through some villages and cities. I narrate what I am seeing and feeling and of the people I meet. It will describe to the reader the many high and low points and daily physical and mental challenges that a 119 day end-to-end hike will put the hiker through. Stories of being dropped off by boat into a high security area and how I got out; of being called into Kiwis' houses to stay the night or just to have a coffee; falling down the side of a mountain into a raging icy-cold river and thinking it was all about to end. It was the hike of a lifetime and probably the best way to see New Zealand and its wonderful people. I have now completed several long walks around the world however Te Araroa is still one of my favourites.

The New Zealand All Blacks are one of the most recognisable and formidable teams on the world sporting stage. They are the record setters, the keepers of tradition, and the icons of the game of Rugby Union. They have been the benchmark for skill and execution ever since the oval ...shaped ball first arrived on New Zealand's shores, and are a team the rest of the world aspire to beat. They also hold the most victories of any Test nation, and the best win percentage overall, and can proudly stand shoulder to shoulder alongside some of the greatest sporting teams in the world of any code.Much has been written about the All Blacks and their legacy, but in this one book you get the full picture the Tests, the players, the results and the history - recollecting those memorable moments and marvelling at the exploits of some of world-famous All Blacks. From the inaugural Rugby World Cup in 1987, when it was still an amateur game, through to their record-breaking exploits in 2016 at the height of professionalism, the All Blacks have enjoyed one of the highest levels of sporting success in the world. But the modern era is not the whole story. The New Zealand Rugby Companion fills in the essential gaps, provides the historic context and completes the total picture for all rugby lovers. This book is designed to help parents support their children to become self-regulated, resilient learners who know how to 'fail well'. Educationist Lance King designed his first learning improvement programme for school children more than 20 years ago and after trialing it saw am...azing results.Children who had previously considered themselves academic failures began to succeed. Since then he has delivered this programme to hundreds of thousands of students, teachers and parents in schools around the world. The Importance of Failing Well distills his ideas about the 'learning skills' approach to learning that he teaches through his programme from a parent's point of view. He guides parents through the learning process and gives practical advice on how they can best encourage and support their children to become resilient, focused, effective, confident learners who react to challenges in a positive way and understand the importance of 'failing well'.
