This book presents the 2019-2020 contests organized by the American Computer Science League. ACSL offers 5 divisions to appeal to the variety of abilities of middle school and high school students. Contests consist of two parts: short problems that cover fundamental concepts in c...omputer science and a programming problem, where students solve a specific problem by writing a computer program in a language of their choice. The fundamental computer science topics covered in the short problem tests include Assembly Language Programming, Bit-String Flicking, Boolean Algebra, Computer Number Systems, Data Structures, Digital Electronics, FSAs and Regular Expressions, Graph Theory, LISP, Prefix/Infix/Postfix Notation, Recursive Functions, and What Does This Program Do? There were four regular season contests, held at each participating school. At the end of the season, the top students were invited to participate in an online all-star competition. This book is organized contest by contest. In each contest, the problems and solutions are organized by division.

It was Isaac Newton's Principia that founded the law of universal gravitation on 5th July 1687. It is the same principia that inspired Albert Einstein into formulating the Einstein field equations (the general relativity theory). It is still the same principia, I believe, will le...ad us to the quantum theory of gravity (Quantum gravity) According to Newton's Principia, the force of gravity governs the movement of bodies in the solar system. It is this simple mathematical law which determines the motion of bodies. The force of gravity accurately predicts the planetary orbits, it was used to put the first man on the moon, it predicts the return of comets, the rotation of galaxies, the solar eclipses, artificial satellites, satellite communications and television, the GPS and interplanetary probes. I almost forgot, it is why NASA was established in the first place.

This is the first edition of Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species, published on November 24, 1859 in London by John Murray. It is a seminal work in scientific literature and a landmark work in evolutionary biology. It introduced the theory that populations evolve over the co...urse of generations through a process of natural selection. It presented a body of evidence that the diversity of life arose by common descent through a branching pattern of evolution. The starting chapters introduce the theory of natural selection, explaining why certain species thrive, while others decrease in number, how the members of nature are in competition with each other and why organisms tend to vary and change with time. Much of this work is based on experiments and observations seen within domestic animals and plants. The later chapters defend the theory of natural selection against apparent inconsistencies, why geological records are incomplete, why we find species so widespread and how sterility can be inherited when the organisation is unable to reproduce and more. The book is approachable for any audience.

The theory which is sketched in the following pages forms the most wide-going generalization conceivable of what is at present known as the theory of Relativity; this latter theory I differentiate from the former Special Relativity theory, and suppose it to be known. The generali...zation of the Relativity theory has been made much easier through the form given to the special Relativity theory by Minkowski, which mathematician was the first to recognize clearly the formal equivalence of the space like and time-like co-ordinates, and who made use of it in the building up of the theory. The mathematical apparatus useful for the general relativity theory, lay already complete in the Absolute Differential Calculus , which were based on the researches of Gauss, Riemann and Christoffel on the non-Euclidean manifold, and which have been shaped into a system by Ricci and Levi-Civita, and already applied to the problems of theoretical physics. I have in part B of this communication developed in the simplest and clearest manner, all the supposed mathematical auxiliaries, not known to Physicists, which will be useful for our purpose, so that, a study of the mathematical literature is not necessary for an understanding of this paper. Finally in this place I thank my friend Grossmann, by whose help I was not only spared the study of the mathematical literature pertinent to this subject, but who also aided me in the researches on the field equations of gravitation.

Vicky I'm really glad to have taken this course. I've been interested in set design, but hadn't found a class online or one that fit with my day job schedule. This class has been a great introduction to programs used in the field. I was excited that the course was focused on desi...gn, and opened up to include all types of performances. Instead, I felt that this course's structure laid the groundwork for design in general. With this course drawing to a close, I feel inspired to keep going! It was great to learn about current technologies in the design world. Prior to this class, I didn't have exposure to projection mapping, visual programming languages, AI or CAD software. It was eye opening to see how prevalent these technologies are used in theater design today, and I appreciate being able to gain some experience in these areas. While I'm disappointed that this course is coming to a close, I appreciate these past five weeks. This course has been dynamic and there was a lot to learn. Thanks for everything!!

We see girls and women everywhere using electronic devices; phones, tablets, laptops very proficiently, so what's the problem? It is a real, a serious and a long-standing issue. The number of girls entering and staying in computing education is still woefully low. Women are still... not present at the centre of power where decisions are made determining how electronic equipment will develop. They are in reality mere users. Women in science and technology have always been pushed into the background by means of all sorts of ruses. The stories of how women scientists have suffered the same indignities since the 17th century: gender pay gaps, ridicule, sexist comments and being silenced make fascinating and relevant reading. And all this remains true in computing. RIGHTING THE WRONG looks again at the foundations of computing: mathematics, engineering and, arguably, science and shows how the masculinity of these still pervades computing education and the industry. This pervasiveness lays the groundwork for so much of the on-line abuse girls and women suffer. By drawing attention to the distant and more recent past Frances encourages readers to become more aware of what continues to this day; she urges them to challenge new developments and not to put up any longer with being silenced.
