This first title of the trilogy launches a new children's book character called Torri - a very special green sea turtle. The young reader shares in Torri's many adventures as she travels north through the Great Barrier Reef. Her adventures feature many of the wonders and splendor...s of this spectacular Reef. Not only do Torri's travels showcase a healthy marine world but alas, she also chances upon a section of reef that is far from healthy. The young reader is exposed to subtle eco-messages that will inform their appreciation for the reef while alerting them to the need to care for our underwater world. Torri also shows how to deal with scary situations and being afraid, how to have the confidence to "have a go" by believing in herself, and how to self-sooth through the use of breath and positive self-talk - all reinforced by the reef raps and rhythms throughout the story. This makes Torri an excellent role model who can be used to help shape emotional and social resilience in the youngster.
The storyline along with the high quality audio and video features of the book, makes for an exceptionally engaging reading experience. The digital components of the book can be dual accessed directly from the book via either QR codes or web links making this a "next generation" publication.

BB discovered the Great Barrier Reef after growing up on an inland farm in NSW. The symbiotic relationship between the huge array of marine creatures, the reef and the appeal of the ocean has evoked her eternal love and respect and feeds her desire to share its many splendors with others, especially children. Now her home and foremost creative space is Coral Bay WA.
Renato has been the design guru at RenBro Publishing for over 15 years.
