Description of this Book

Every evening Otto's family come together to hold hands when they sleep. But in the morning Otto doesn't want to let go! Poor Otto's parents can't get anything done with him holding on to them, but he's just too worried and afraid to be left on his own. Until one day Mum opens a special shell with a pearl inside that sparks Otto's attention! It's beautiful ...and he can see another otter inside it, reaching out to him! Otto takes the pearl into his hands - and realizes that he's not holding on to his Mum or Dad anymore, and he feels fine!

NZ Review Storytime is a series of lovely picture books from QED. They are designed to introduce young children to the pleasure of sharing stories and with their enjoyable storylines and beautiful artwork, all the books in the series are a great way to instill a love of books and reading. Otto's family snuggle up together holding hands at night - but the problem comes in the morning when Otto doesn't want to let go! Poor Otto is scared to be alone but it makes life hard for his parents! But one day Otto is given a beautiful pearl and sees another otter inside it. When he takes it, he realises that he has let go and is still sfae. A reassuring story perfect to instill confidence in shy children and help them overcome fears. Parents in Touch

Author's Bio

DANIEL HOWARTH started drawing from a very early age and went on to study Art at college and then university. He graduated with a degree in Illustration in 1994 and started creating his own range of greetings cards with his wife and fellow children's author, Heidi Howarth, whom he met at university. Daniel works from his studio in Exeter and enjoys the wealth of inspiration and imagination that comes from living deep in the Devon countryside with his wife and two children. HEIDI HOWARTH has written several popular titles for QED, including The Littlest Lighthouse Keeper and How To Catch A Falling Star. She often collaborates with her husband - illustrator Dan Howarth.
