Marlene J Bennetts has been writing poetry and works of fiction for children and adults for many years. She has had several collections of poetry published, as well as having poems included in anthologies in New Zealand and overseas. Marlene's children's stories have been published in New Zealand anthologies, School Journals, read over New Zealand National Radio and translated into Maori. Marlene was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (M.N.Z.M.) 2003 Queen's Birthday Honours in recognition of her services to literature.
