I Spy NZ Art gives children the opportunity to become familiar, in an entertaining and engaging way, with New Zealand art. An interactive and educational book, it allows children to learn the alphabet while exploring a range artworks. The preface offers guidelines for using the book. Young readers study illustrations, looking for items or ideas that begin with a nominated letter of the alphabet. The book's back pages include the images reproduced in full and suggest answers for what might be 'spied' in each illustration. Suggested words include some associated with the visual arts. The 26 artworks illustrated include painting, photography and sculpture by Pakeha, Maori and Pacific artists.
