Description of this Book

Hot on the heels of the best-selling book Accidentally Overweight, Dr Libby Weaver's new book Rushing Woman's Syndrome is set to be another best-seller. Following a year of successful international appearances the Dr Libby brand is growing at a rapid rate. Rushing Woman's Syndrome describes the biochemical and emotional effects of constantly being in a rush and the health consequences that urgency elicits. It doesn't seem to matter if a woman has two things to do in her day or two hundred, she is in a pressing rush to do it all. She is often wound up like a top, running herself ragged in a daily battle to keep up. There is always so much to do, and she very rarely feels like she wins, is in control and gets on top of things. In fact her deep desire to control even the smaller details of life can leave her feeling out of control, even of herself. Dr Libby combines two decades of personal experience, fourteen years of university and thirteen years of clinical experience in her unique conversational style to offer you real solutions to both the biochemistry and the emotional patterns of the rush.

Author's Bio

Dr Libby Weaver (nee Ellis) (Ph.D) is one of Australasia's leading nutrition specialists and weight loss experts based in Auckland, New Zealand. Libby's passion for empowering people to make optimum health choices has led her to consult privately with individuals, in the coporate health arena, as well as with universities and the media. She is an author and a much sought after and passionate speaker covering a broad range of topics that leave her audiences well informed and uplifted. Libby completed her Ph.D examining biochemical and nutritional factors in children with autism at The University of Newcastle, Australia, the outcomes of which have affected the way in which the condition is treated in Australia and now also in New Zealand. It was through this work that Libby came to better understand the role various hormones play in influencing our body shape and size, our appetites, our responses to exercise and stress, clarity of thought, sleep patterns and a host of other behaviours. Working in two of Australia's leading health retreats, sharing these insights, Libby's concepts were often described as life-changing . She reaches a broad range of people from business men and women and stay-at-home parents, to prominent sportspeople and Hollywood stars. Dr Libby has heard stories of weight loss challenges from people of many different walks of life. For some it was as simple as sorting their energy intake versus their energy expenditure. For countless others, frustration stemmed from confusion about what to eat and a sense of frustration that after a period of effort with food and exercise still no loss of body fat was occurring. Dr Libby knew there had to be far more to weight loss than energy balance. It was as if for some a carrot had 20 calories, while for others that same carrot behaved like it added 40 calories to the daily intake. Accidentally Overweight was born out of Dr Libby's research and reflection. Dr Libby's powerful messages are delivered through the pages of her book, in audio products, webinars and podcasts as well as through her informative seminars, all getting to the heart of nutritional issues which have the potential to alter an individual's health future. Dr Libby writes for numerous magazines and her first book Accidentally Overweight is for everyone wanting to understand how they can drive their body chemistry to always be able to access fat to burn it for energy and the wonderful and broad-reaching benefits that brings.
