Description of this Textbook
In 1948 naturalist and philanthropist Edward Hallstrom set up an experimental sheep farm in the Central Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Two years later an expedition set out into unexplored territory, to gather and record information on the wildlife and plants of the Jimi River Valley, and to re-establish contact with the people in the area. These photos and text record the journey. Illust. B&W.
